Knowing where it comes from

A stone does not tell you where it comes from.

Provenance begins at the moment of extraction.

We work one quarry at a time, so the extraction date tells which quarry each piece came from. When we record it, the piece gets its code.

From then on, that record stays with it.

Why documentation matters

The geographic origin of an amethyst cannot be determined simply by analyzing the stone. That is why provenance is built through documents: who extracted it, where and when.
